The Screwtape Letters

The Lewis Estate was so pleased with how the Chronicles of Narnia turned out that they permitted a second project: an audio drama of the satirical classic, The Screwtape Letters.  Senior demon Screwtape instructs (and berates) his foolish nephew over his dealings with a human patient and Wormwood's lack of finesse in winning him for "Our Father Below."

Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars Episode VII) does a masterful job as the sneering, menacing, funny and clever Screwtape.

The CS Lewis estate invited Paul to annotate "The Screwtape Letters," the first of Lewis' books to have such annotations written. The notes are not theological or interpretive (who would dare!), but explanations of literary references and WW2 English-isms, along with directions to other Lewis' writings on subjects raised in the book. It provides insights for those who know "Screwtape" well, and for those reading it for the first time.
